What a fabulous, fruitful year we have had in Struthers, Cumbernauld.
We have seen a good number of lives find Christ and several baptised in the Holy Spirit. At the end of the year as I look round the faces in our congregation I see several new faces that have become very much part of our church family. Lives restored from backslidden conditions, lives came to Christ from difficult heartbreaking situations and from different religions. It has truly been a marked year of blessing and fruitfulness.
It has been the first year we have had three separate outreaches running simultaneously; a vision that I have longed to see fulfilled for some time.
Our Coatbridge work has grown in number and become established spiritually. It is with great joy I hand over more responsibility to Pete and Carol in that work.
The Airdrie folk have continued to meet faithfully on a weekly basis under Rae and John's ministry. Although growth has been slow God has been very much with them and blessed them. Several lives in that small group have made deeper commitments to Christ and their lives have turned round as a result.
Our Motherwell work has been blessed with lives finding salvation, restoration and being baptised in the Holy Spirit.
We have had a good number of visitors at a series of outreaches in the second half of the year in our Cumbernauld church. Many lives have been affected and commented on the Presence of God that they felt with us.
Not only has God blessed our adult work but our children's work has grown too. Our Friday night youth work continues to be fruitful with around 40-60 children coming on a regular basis. To my great delight some of these children have started coming to Sunday School too. It's been lovely to see them and to have their lively contributions!
There is so much more I could say about the way God had been moving amongst us. The wonderful deliverances, the tarry meetings, the weekly Bible Studies the Struthers Cumbernauld choir. We have been truly blessed.
It is with heartfelt gratitude to God that, as we approach the end of the year, I come to Him and with all my heart say thank you.
As I ponder the New Year Word given to us for 2012 I realise how accurately it has been fulfilled for us as a fellowship.
'Let your hands be strong so that the temple may be built. As you have been an object of cursing...so I will save you, and you will be a blessing.' Zechariah 8:9,13
I would like to say thank you to all my folks for their hard work throughout the year. I wish everyone a very happy, blessed, fruitful and prosperous new year for 2013.
Pastor Diana Rutherford, Cumbernauld.
