Mid week outreach meetings

by Struthers Cumbernauld

A good number gathered in Coatbridge last night. We started with a good time of singing followed by a testimony from Marion from Airdrie to salvation and baptism in the Holy Spirit. Diana then brought a word from Hebrews 11:30 'By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the people had marched around them for 7 days.' She spoke of persevering until we have a spiritual breakthrough. Thereafter we had a short time of seeking God together. A prophetic word was given at the end encouraging each one to forsake sin that the walls and barriers within us would also fall.

The theme of our Motherwell meeting this week was 'The Baptism in the Holy Spirit'. After a time of singing led by Andrew, in which everyone was in very good voice, Karen gave testimony to the changing power of the gospel in her life. She spoke of the reality of finding Christ as a young teenager and also spoke of the time she was baptised in the Holy Spirit. Laura then spoke from different verses in the Bible around the theme of the baptism in the Holy Spirit focussing particularly on Acts chapter 19. Laura spoke of the need for believers to seek for the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, an encounter with Christ which changes a person's heart, giving them power to witness and live above sin. We had a lovely time of worship after the preaching. The presence of God came down upon us in a very rich way during this time, and we left the service with the wonderful assurance that we had been fed deeply in the presence of The Lord.
