Ephesians ch4 v28

Tonight we began by looking at the fact that there were those within the early churches who were still prone to sin. Paul addresses issues like bad language, slander, laziness and bitterness. He encourages the people to work hard. We discussed how good it is for us to be employed in honest work whether paid or not and how this can add to our witness for Christ.
We moved on to talk about the importance of our witness and the effect that this has upon the people around us. We need to watch our language and conversations and make sure that they are good, otherwise we can 'grieve the Holy Spirit' (ch4 v30).
We need to learn to put away all evil things and learn to live sensitively to the Spirit of God. That way we will live in a way that pleases God, because we are living under His grace and forgiveness (ch4 v32).
