Bible Study Report
9th April 2013

We continued our bible study on the book of Galatians, starting at ch2 v11. After reading over the part where Paul publicly confronts Peter for refusing to eat with the Gentiles, we discussed some of the reasons for Paul doing this. It was to make the church aware of the dangers of becoming entangled once again in the law, after Christ had set them free from it. It also had to be addressed quickly, so that it wouldn't spread. We discussed how spiritual leaders at times need to address various issues with each other, however, this is always done in love and in an appropriate manner, and, most importantly, under the anointing.

We then followed this up by looking at how we can only be made right with God through faith. We need the Holy Spirit to give us power over sin. He illumines our sinfulness, and gives us the power to overcome.
Like Paul, we are no longer bound by the law, because Jesus has set us free from it.
This led on to the part where Paul speaks about being crucified with Christ. The only way for us to reach this point is for us to keep our focus on Jesus. It's the attractiveness of Christ which draws us as we strive to reach that place and allow ourselves to die to ourselves and come alive in Christ.
