A great night tonight at our Friday club. We had our end of term kids extravaganza! Around 70 kids showed up for our fun night.
The evening started in the church with some lively singing. We then moved on to our 4 stations: a bouncy castle; games in the field; a barbecue and a cookery group. The children got 15 mins at each station before moving on to the next activity. It all ran like clockwork.
We had one or two amusing incidents when the minister got stuck on the bouncy castle whilst trying to help a small child! This caused some amusement particularly for the small child! Another when 12 little girls all tried to jam themselves into our tiny gazebo! Our coffee shop was open to parents and many of them stayed for the evening, either accompanying their child around the stations or chatting in the shop.
At the end of the evening everyone gathered again in the church. There must have been around 120 folks! Each child received a small package. We are hoping that some may start attending Sunday School over the summer. A huge thank you to the fantastic team who worked so hard tonight and all who came to support! These occasions could not run without the commitment of those who are willing to give of their time and energy.
In our Student Zone we gathered together to reflect on the evening. We then had a short, but powerful tarry time together. The Presence of God was certainly with us.
We were very encouraged with the whole event. Please continue to pray that we will see fruit over the summer months.
