Tonight we continued our study of Ephesians, starting with Ch1 v15. We considered Paul's thankfulness for the faith of the believers and the love which the church were showing towards other Christians.
Paul also prays for the churches that God will reveal Himself to them and that they would know the hope and inheritance to which they have been called.
Paul also prays that they will know the 'surpassing greatness' of God's power. Paul reminds us that the power available to us in God is the same power that raised Christ from the dead. In our own Christian walk, this power is not withheld from us; rather we can come to a place where we can seek and find it for ourselves.
We also discussed the importance of praying for others. The more we find of Him, the more we should want to encourage others and pray that they too will find a deeper place in God. While no one is worthy to receive His power, through Calvary Christ has brought us into his hope and inheritance.
We finished our study on the beginning of Chapter 2. we discussed the initial verses. We considered how miraculous it is that God has brought us out of a spiritual death. He has made us alive and brought us, through the power of the blood, into the life and power of His own presence. We were encouraged by folks sharing the impact of this miracle in their own lives.
