Hebrews ch11 v11
We began our study by looking at the faith of Abraham's wife, Sarah. She bore a child as an old woman, past the child-bearing age because God had promised her that it would be so, and a whole nation would come from her child.
When we read of the account in Genesis, Sarah appears to be lacking in faith yet the verse in Hebrews confirms that she did have faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for yet not seen, therefore Sarah hoped for the promised child and faith was the substance of this hope within her.
It might have been that when Sarah realised that the Living God was speaking to her, faith was born within her.
In our own lives, God often speaks to us about something which 'is not seen', and our faith grows from that moment. When we live our lives in righteousness, then God will speak to us more frequently, and the more we obey Him, the more our faith increases.
As we obey, our lives will become more fruitful in Him. We must maintain the correct attitude towards faith, so that the life of God will be lived through us.
