Operation Christmas child is a charity project run by Samaritans Purse to enable children, in over 130 countries, to experience God's Love through the simple idea of receiving a shoebox filled with Christmas gifts. These children, living in places where poverty is rife, will have a shoebox filled with gifts such as toiletries, stationary and most importantly toys. Our Cumbernauld Church has been involved in the project for many years now with our congregation giving generous, financial donations and the children donating their time and efforts into wrapping and filling the shoeboxes. It has been a cause that I have felt passionate about for a while. The idea that each shoebox is an unconditional gift for a child who would not normally experience the joy that Christmas time would bring in our country. The concept of 99 boxes creating 99 smiles is something we should all be proud of. I thank you all for your unfailing kindness and support over the years.
