Friday night youth work

by Struthers Cumbernauld

We had 40 children at our Friday club tonight, who came in great voice! The singing was fab!
The children were then asked to make a plan to help Tiffies get rich. Lots of great suggestions were made! We then focused on the verse 'For I know the plans I have for you' and talked about how our plans are not always the best, but God's plan is always perfect. We then went into stations making cakes, playing football and parachute games.

In our high school zone we had about 15 young people. We began with some singing led by Tiffies and Ailsa before Hannah, Mel and Karen taught us a new song. Heather then gave a very good testimony to salvation before Tiffies spoke. The story was told of a young soldier who threw himself on a fallen grenade to save his troop. We looked at this in light of the Cross. We closed by singing a song about the Cross.

This Friday, we also had a young adults meeting. This was organised for over 16s.
Diana came and talked to them about making a greater commitment to the church work. We then prayed together for a short time before closing.

Our evening finished with some food and fellowship. One of our young adults, Louise, is off to St Andrews university, so we had a wee celebration farewell do for her.
