Friday youth work

by Struthers Cumbernauld

On Friday night we had a great time at Struthers Church. Around 30 kids came to our Friday club; it was nice to see a few faces we had not seen in a while. We had a great time of singing to start with and the children all came with lots of song choices. Tiffies then spoke about the story of Lazarus. We demonstrated what it would have been like for Lazarus to come out the tomb by wrapping Scott up in toilet roll! We talked about how wrong choices can wrap their way around us until it's hard to break free and stop. Scott broke free from his wrappings to show that Jesus can free us from any sin we might be entangled in. We then had stations with art and craft printing with a Mother's Day theme, team challenges, building balloon towers and games. It was a great night.

In our student zone the young people began with a game of football outside. Leah then led some singing before Zander split us into discussion groups. This week the theme was 'love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind'. We talked about the things that prevent us from doing this and how we can overcome these hindrances. We closed with a short time of prayer.
