A great meeting again in Coatbridge tonight. We began with our usual weekly reports which are always encouraging. Carol then spoke from the life of Daniel in the Old Testament, she took the verse;
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. (Daniel 6:10 KJV)
She spoke about the windows of heaven being opened to us, and that we need to come and look and see what God has for us. This led onto her next verse;
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. (Psalms 121:1-3 KJV)
We then turned to prayer and a rich sense of the peace of God fell upon us. It was lovely. We look forward to next week.
Our meeting began with John taking the singing before giving an excellent testimony to his salvation and baptism in the Holy Spirit. Rae began with a verse from Rom 8:26 'The Spirit also helps our infirmities.' She then read from 1Cor 6: 9-20 and spoke on how God knows our frame. A bruised reed He shall not break but helps us in all our weaknesses. It is God who works in us. We finished by looking at the beginning of Psalm 23 and on the Shepherd who we can wholly trust for our spiritual health and wellbeing. Our bodies are made for the Lord and He cares for them because they are part of Christ. A relaxed but joyful worship time followed before supper.
We had a small number on Wednesday night but an excellent meeting.
We started with a couple of songs before having a Bible Study on John's Gospel Chapter 9. It was the story of the healing of the blind beggar and the opposition that he met after his healing. Everyone contributed to the discussion which was nice and there were some very good points made by different folks.
We closed our evening with a time of prayer which was wonderfully rich with His presence.
