Coatbridge and Airdrie outreach meetings

by Struthers Cumbernauld

 Airdrie Meeting

John began our evening and led us in some singing before Rae spoke from Genesis 24:32 & 28:38. Jacob left home with only a walking stick, yet returned with an abundance of wealth due to his fight and determination to receive the birthright. Esau was uninterested in his birthright and ultimately was cursed. At the start of a new year we are encouraged to follow in Jacob's footsteps and find the inheritance that awaits us.

We are looking forward to a year of the favour of our Lord.

Coatbridge Meeting

We started our first meeting of 2016 with prayer and reports from the past few weeks including positive feedback from the New Year conference.

This week's Word was different as we listened to a recording of a sermon preached in 2001 by the late Mr Hugh B Black who was the founding minister of Struthers.  Mr Black was preaching on John 12:21 '...Sir we would see Jesus'.  A lovely presence of God fell upon the meeting as Mr Black finished his preaching with a time of prayer.  This led to a real breakthrough in prayer to finish our meeting.  It is amazing how the presence of God can come from a recorded sermon preached 15 years ago!

We ended our evening with a short time of fellowship and supper.
