A new lady, and two of our old friends from ASK, joined us at the Airdrie meeting this week. John led some very good singing and Mag's testimony to salvation and the baptism in the Holy Spirit was great. Rae spoke from John's Gospel Chapter 12 'While you have the light, believe in the light' and from Chapter 14 'Have I been with you this long and yet you don't know me?'. This very encouraging word was well received. Our new friend very much enjoyed worshipping with us. We hope to see her again along with the two from ASK. Tea and Marion's sponge cake also went down a wee treat.
We began with an up to date report from everyone which was very nice. There were several lovely stories: one spoke of loving church since she had joined us; another spoke of the feeding they are finding personally from the Gospel of John; another told a story of going to visit a dying brother to discover he had already found Christ whilst another spoke of being in the midst of conflict and suddenly finding a line from a chorus putting everything back into focus.
We then had a short time of song before Pauline brought the bible study on the theme of deliverance. She used several scripture references; an interesting discussion followed. After lots of questions, Diana finished by relating some personal stories about the deliverance ministry before we turned to prayer.
It was only a short time of worship but there was an amazing sense of freedom and life of God with us. We were truly blessed.
