Friday youth meetings

by Struthers Cumbernauld

A busy first night back to our youth club with over 30 children, including three new kids. We met in the big Sunday School room and the singing sounded fabulous. There were lots of requests for songs tonight. After the singing the children in P1/2 went out with Leah and Heather. In the older group, Tiffies spoke about resolutions and making the resolution to get to know Jesus better. She talked about prayer and using the five fingered approach (thank God, confess sin, praise God, pray for others, pray for yourself) to help us. We closed with a few minutes in prayer while singing a song and there was a lovely atmosphere with us. The younger children also focused on the theme of prayer. Children then went to their activities of games, arts and crafts and quiz. It was a good night.

In our older group, Scott and Tiffies began some games before Lauren taught us two new games. We then had our meeting which Zander introduced before Scott gave his testimony. The testimony focused on salvation, baptism in the Spirit and how Scott made some hard choices as he grew up. He talked about the difference this has made in his Christian life. Zander concluded by speaking briefly about what the baptism in the Spirit is and what the plans are for the meeting over the next wee while. We closed with a time of praying out loud and it was nice to have many of our younger children take part. A good night all in.
