Youth Work Update

by Struthers Cumbernauld

Our Friday night work is well and truly back up and running after our summer break! On our first week back we were delighted to have 36 kids and the following week we had 49. Many have come through leaflets given out in our local primary schools. We are delighted with the support and encouragement we have received from these schools!

This morning we had our first monthly activities morning following our summer break. We were delighted to have 13 children, many of whom came through invitations given out on Friday night. The theme of the morning was water, so we were very busy building lighthouses and making models of boats. We learned about how Jesus is like a lighthouse that guides us and keeps us safe and talked about ways in which we can share our light with others. Children had great fun racing the boats they had built.

We had very positive feedback from parents, who told us how much their children are enjoying the Friday club and thanking us for taking the time to provide something for their children.

Our next activities morning will be on Sunday the 28th of September from 10.30-12.30 for primary age children. Please see our youth work page for details of our weekly provisions for children on a Sunday and for details of our Friday night youth work. Any questions are welcome. Please see our contact page to drop us an e-mail.
