Week beginning 22nd October 2012

'Pointing to his disciples, he said, 'Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother''    Matt 12: 49

I noticed this verse in a new way this week.

Can you imagine when Christ turns to you , points at you and says 'this person is part of my family'. What an amazing feeling to think that He has included you! It gives such a sense of warmth and belonging.

It's what we all long for, to feel we matter to somebody, more than this that we belong to someone. It puts a new slant on the verse 'My beloved is mine and I am His'     Song of Songs 2:16

We can look at Christ and know that not only we belong to Him, but that He is very much part of our lives. Our family should be people we can be totally relaxed with, people who know us, love us and accept us just as we are. Christ does this! There need be no false pretences with Him. He comes into our lives to be our closest, constant companion.

It couldn't be better!
