Thought For The Week by Paul Sharkey

I have prayed for you that your faith will not fail. Luke 22:32

Faith carries us through a crisis. It doesn’t matter whether the circumstances are our own doing or out of our control. Peter was to deny the one Person he loved most in all the world and it was almost the end of him, but Jesus had prayed for him that his faith would ‘not fail’.

A crisis can be our downfall, but, when faith is added it can become a stepping stone to higher ground.

“Father, I trust You know about this crisis and I know that You love me!” will carry a believer through every crisis.

But one last thing, we arrive on the higher ground changed. Something of the old ‘us’ was left behind as we held onto the rope of faith. A changed Peter went on to open the gates of heaven at Pentecost. What has God planned for us?
