Thought For The Week by Pastor Diana Rutherford

by Struthers Cumbernauld

'Now may the God of Peace...equip you with everything good for doing His will, and may He work in us what is pleasing to Him, through Jesus Christ.'  Hebrews 13:20,21

I spoke from these verses this week in our Motherwell meeting and found them so effective I wanted to use them again.

The phrase 'equip you with everything good'   is the part that particularly lived for me.  If this verse is true (and it should be since it is the inspired word of God) then there should be nothing that causes us to be afraid or for which we feel inadequate or we cannot cope.  He will give to us everything we need for doing His will.  The golden rule is as long as we are in the will of God we can be at total peace over what comes our way.

Do you have a stressful job?  Do the pressures of work get the better of you sometimes?  Or perhaps you have unhappy home circumstances?  Whatever your difficulties God knows all and if we trust Him, He will not only equip us for these difficulties but He will work changes within us that will be pleasing to Him.  He sees the parts of our nature that can't cope with these difficulties and our loving heavenly Father is prepared to make these changes by equipping us with every good thing.  Not only will He equip us, change us, He will also be pleased with us.

We couldn't ask for more!
