Thought for the week by pastor Diana Rutherford

'Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, and will shew thee great things, and difficult, which thou knowest not.' Jeremiah 33:3

This week we had a big all-day outreach planned in Drumpellier Park, Coatbridge. It was one of those occasions that could be successful if the weather was reasonable. The forecast for the day was heavy rain all day. We considered changing the day but it seemed easier to bring our plans before our Heavenly Father and ask for His help.
We prayed very simply for nice weather. The church prayed. The children prayed. And we were blessed with glorious sunshine and lots of opportunities to tell others of our Lord. It was a great day!
It was, once again, a simple reminder of the access we have to our Father in heaven. We called and He answered. How simple! Just like a child calling for a parent.
He will show us great things and we will marvel at them. I certainly marvelled at His goodness that day when I discovered Glasgow had torrential rain and Edinburgh heavy showers.
The Word says He will show us difficult things that we don't know about. Isn't it delightful to think that there are things out there that are too big for us; too difficult for us to understand; and yet our Heavenly Father knows about all of these things too. Not only that, He will show us them, He will help us understand them.
All we need to do is call.
