'The joy of The Lord is their strength' Neh 8:10

The joy of The Lord is something that we need to seek. So often our thoughts rotate around ourselves and those closest to us.
The joy of The Lord is something wholly 'other'. It is not related to our present circumstances or to the way we feel or even our health. It is related purely to God. In Him there is Life, there is Joy. The very essential being of God is Joy. We read in the Bible Proverbs 8:30
'Then I was by him, as one brought up with him : and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him'.
These words describe the essential relationship between Father and Son. Christ was the delight (joy) of the Father; rejoicing always before Him. There was, and is, perfect Joy in Paradise.
We need to choose to turn our minds away from ourselves and all that troubles and seek to find the source of that Joy. How quickly it comes when we seek it! Then this verse is true for us too in every circumstance
'The joy of The Lord is our strength.'
