Thought for the week by pastor Diana Rutherford

'A spring shut up a fountain sealed.' Song of Songs 4:12

In my reading this weekend I discovered that in the East to help preserve the water from sand they cover the hole of the well or spring with a rock.
To take a drink they have to roll the stone away from the mouth of the well or spring; let their bucket down and draw water.

It's a lovely illustration to me of the Easter story. We need to come to the tomb, roll away the stone of unbelief, sin and spiritual lethargy and draw from the Resurrection of Christ, the Salvation that He offers.

The Bible says:-
'Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.' Isaiah 12:3

So let us come today, and every day, drawing water from the wells of salvation. It won't take very long before you feel the joy! Salvation brings peace, joy, inner strength, purpose, contentment and above all the presence of Jesus Christ.

Whatever your stone is today, roll it away, come and draw spiritual water from the great well, Christ Jesus, and discover life, yes even Monday mornings, are worth living!
