Friday night youth work

by Struthers Cumbernauld

A very busy night tonight with 81 children at our Friday club! Again, quite a few brand new children in that number.
We had some very lively singing to start and then looked at the story of Jesus calming the storm. We thought about things that can be like storms for us and how Jesus takes these from us. Everyone wrote down one of their 'storms', and threw it in the bin under a picture of the cross at the end, to remind us when we bring these things to Jesus, they are not our worries anymore. We then had lots of activities, including iMovie making, games, crafts and quiz stations. It was a super night!

In our student zone, we split into small groups to discuss some Bible portions that relate to different situations we may face in life. In our groups we talked about these and how God's word can help us. Young people found this very interesting. We also prayed for our youth work, before meeting together again for a bigger discussion. This was followed by a discussion about our Christmas plans and our evening finished with some birthday celebrations.

Please continue to uphold this work in your prayers as God continues to bless and expand the work!
