Friday night youth work report

by Struthers Cumbernauld

A good night with our young people on Friday. We had around 40 children for our Youth Club.
The theme for the meeting was being in the world but not of the world. We used an experiment with water, oil and red food colouring to illustrate this. We explained how Jesus is the only one who can take our sin away. After this, we went to our stations, which included making paper lanterns, rounders and other games. It was great making the most of the weather!

In our student zone, we continued our games of rounders before our Bible study.
In one of the groups we looked at Mark ch 12. We discussed the fact that in soul we are neither male nor female. We also discussed the widows mite and what it means to give our all for God.
In the other group we looked at Mark ch12 v 18 - 34. We discussed what it really means to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. We then shared some examples of when we have loved our neighbour more than ourselves. It was great to hear each others stories.

We finished our evening by celebrating the 18th birthday of one of our older young people. An evening jammed full of activity.
