Drumpellier Park Outreach

by Struthers Cumbernauld

We had a fabulous day at the park on Saturday 22nd June. The weather forecast was abysmal and we feared it was going to be heavy rain all day.
We made the weather, along with new contacts a matter of serious prayer!
The morning began at 10:30 when we arrived at the site to find marquee all up and ready for use. Our team soon got busy organising kettles, flasks and a thousand pieces of cake that folks had so kindly contributed. We were soon in business and after a short light shower first thing, the day turned out to be glorious! Not only was the weather good but many of our folks had some great opportunities when talking to passers by. Our marquee was busy most of the day with different people dropping in for a cup of tea and a chat. Games were organised for the children; beautiful duets were sung and our choir sang several pieces. We also had a bookstall that was available to visitors. All in all it was a very good day.
A big thank you to the team for their hard work. It was a very successful day and we look forward to seeing the results of our labours in the days ahead.

At our evening service in Glasgow that same night we noticed that no one else was sunburnt except the outreach folk! We asked around to discover most folks had torrential rain for most of the day. Our God not only hears but answers prayer. Praise His Name!!
