Friday night youth work

by Struthers Cumbernauld

Another busy Friday club tonight with just under 60 children. There were a couple of new faces too. We started with a fantastic time of singing, with children finishing off singing the song 'There is love that came for us' with a volume and enthusiasm that would have outdone any adult gathering! Our theme tonight was the Love of the Father. We talked about some of the amazing things friends and family have done for us with children sharing some lovely stories. After this we watched some video footage of a father who ran the Iron Man triathlon with his son who was disabled. We compared this to the Love of our Father that goes far beyond this and carries us through the hard times in our lives. Children then enjoyed their stations including football, indoor games, quiz and crafts.

In our high school meeting we had many of our newer young people returning. After some team games we had a time of singing. Scott then lead an inter active discussion on what it means to be a Christian and how we can get closer to God. Young people were very engaged and involved in the discussion.
