Sunday youth work

by Struthers Cumbernauld

This morning we looked at the story of Peter, James and John in a sailboat, when Jesus miraculously told them how to catch lots of fish. We made a craft and learnt a new song. Both of these helped to illustrate the story. After this we gave the children an opportunity to show off their amazing singing voices before finishing with our snack.

In Bible class today we discussed a range of true and false statements. An example would be, 'going to church regularly makes you a Christian'. The focus was on being able to back up what you believe from the Bible and to encourage the young people to think about why we live our lives the way we do. We then had a time of prayer, particularly remembering the friends the young people are bringing along to our high school meeting on a Friday. We finished off with some sweet treats and a time to catch up on each other's news.
