We had an excellent night in Motherwell! An encouraging sign that we ran out of seats in our small hall this week!
Diana began the night with a lively time of singing when folks were given the opportunity of choosing a song or hymn of their preference. This led into a beautiful worship time of singing in the Holy Spirit.
Margaret Gordon shared her testimony with us. She spoke of her desire to find God and thought about returning to the Catholic Church before being encouraged to come to Struthers with her sister. It was at her first meeting that she encountered the presence of God and on her second visit gave her life to Christ and was baptised in the Holy Spirit.
Thereafter, Diana spoke from Romans 16:1-15. She talked about how she might describe each one of the folks gathered there; each person having something unique that linked them to Christ.
This was followed by a time of prayer which grew very rich as we sought God together. There came real revelation amongst us and a sense of the loveliness of Christ found in the Song of Songs.
There was only a small number that gathered this week but God was with us just the same.
Carol opened in prayer and we sang a couple of songs before each volunteered an up-to-date report on their spiritual progress. There were some lovely points brought out and some honest testimonies shared between the group. After this Carol spoke about coming up to the place where Christ is. It tied in well with some of the reports, and was an encouraging word. To finish we had some singing and Ailsa closed in prayer.
Airdrie House Group
A slightly larger number gathered in Rae and John's home for their meeting.
John took some singing at the beginning which was very good. Rae then spoke from1 Kings 19:4-8 about the provision of God for renewal when discouraged and weary. This was followed by an excellent worship time with a strong presence of God. It was difficult to close the meeting at the end of the night!
We finished our evening with tea, coffees and cake. It was great to be together again!
