It was great to have 4 new folks of recent months come back and join us tonight.
A number of our group gave an update about this past week. Included in this was a testimony as to how much the Gospel of John had opened up to someone.
Carol preached on how close Elijah was to God which allowed him to hear the still small voice of God calling him into action. 1 Kings 17:4.
The message was that we will all go through times when our spiritual feeding will dry up, but rather than accepting it and remaining in that dry and baron place, we need to seek God earnestly and draw close to him and to find out what he wishes us to do next and then to obey what we hear, just like Elijah.
We closed with a time of prayer, followed by tea, cakes and an encouraging time of fellowship.
We were pleased to welcome a new visitor along with some of our folks from the Coatbridge group.
John began with some singing before watching the Billy Graham DVD on Heaven.
Following this, Rae shared a verse from Deut 30:11. 'This command I am giving you today is not too difficult to understand, and is not beyond your reach..... love the Lord your God wth all your heart, all your soul and all your strength.' We finished the evening by singing Amazing Grace before Annette closed in prayer. We then had a lovely buffet supper.
