Toddlers update

by Struthers Cumbernauld

We had another busy morning at Toddlers with 15 children and 17 grown ups joining us in spite of the bad weather.

Morag led the craft with the children making silvery stars which we will use in our nativity next week. They also completed a nativity scene picture by adding straw and baby Jesus in the manger. Marianne continued our nativity theme by telling of the shepherds and the wise men. She rehearsed our songs with them which we will sing next week. During the snack Annette spoke to the adults about the meaning of Christmas using a little tree hiding a cross behind it. She spoke of the gifts given at Christmas leading to the ultimate gift of Jesus and his death on the Cross which we celebrate at Easter. The adults were encouraged to think of these things when putting up their tree.

Next week we celebrate the Nativity by "walking through the story" before finishing with a little Christmas party.
