Friday youth work

by Struthers Cumbernauld

We had around 30 kids at our Friday Club tonight. Tiffies began with lots of singing; the kids were in great voice! Mark then shared a story of how he suffered from nightmares as a child and how, after praying, Jesus took the fear away.  Tiffies rounded up by speaking about Jesus being bigger than all our fears and worries.  She encouraged the children to ask Jesus to be with them in all situations. There was a lovely atmosphere as we closed in prayer. We then went to our stations which included a variety of games, arts and crafts.

In our Student Zone we began by making pancakes, organised by Mel. This went down a treat and the young people enjoyed getting stuck into the finished products. We then split into groups to act out the Bible story of 'The Prodigal Son'. Zander encouraged us to read the story in the Bible over the coming week. He plans to continue this theme next Friday when we will look in more depth into the story.
