Friday night youth work

by Struthers Cumbernauld

A bit of a quieter night with 20 kids at our Friday club tonight. Tiffies began with some singing, with countless choices from the kids. We then split into two teams and were set some challenges, including unwrapping sweets while wearing oven gloves. The competitive spirit was very evident and it was a lot of fun. Tiffies rounded up by speaking about the challenge of being a Christian and what it means for us to follow Jesus. We then continued the challenges in one of our stations, while others enjoyed games and arts and crafts.

In our student zone Mel and Scott began with some games. Mel then taught us a new song with the help of some of our older young people.  Tiffies then split us into groups to discuss the Lord's Prayer and what we think it means. Scott led the boys group while the girls were split between Mel and Hannah and Leah and Heather. There was some super discussion as our older young people answered questions and shared some of their own experiences. Tiffies rounded up by asking the young people to say this prayer daily and think about the words with more understanding. We then closed in prayer in our groups.
