Friday night youth work

by Struthers Cumbernauld

A good start back to our Friday club with over 30 kids including some new faces. We had a great time of singing to start. Tiffies then used an illustration where a child had to spoon cotton wool balls into a bowl on their head while blindfolded. This was then repeated with a friend holding their hand and guiding them. She then linked this with the verse 'For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.' (Isaiah 41:13). The kids then went onto stations with arts and crafts, games and the cornflake box challenge.

In our student zone we had 11 young people. Leah led two songs to start before Zander spoke. He used the analogy of building a home made pizza and how you need a base to start with. He spoke of building on the base and getting to know Jesus more and how it's not possible without the first base of asking Jesus into your heart. He encouraged the young people to think over their own interest in finding more of God.

We then closed in prayer. It was a good night.
