Friday youth work

by Struthers Cumbernauld

Just over 20 children braved the storms to be with us tonight. Leah began with some singing before Tiffies spoke. Children were picked to have a go at the game 'pie face' which ran the risk of them receiving a cream pie to the face. Those who didn't want to try were allowed to ask Shev to come and take their place. The link was made with how Jesus took the place of each one of us when He gave His life on the cross. Kids then went to stations of arts and crafts, quiz and games. A few others had a turn of the game at the end.

In our student zone we began with young people tackling an obstacle course in the coffee shop. They had to choose someone they trusted to guide them while they were blindfolded. Towards the end some pairs tried it while the voices of many others were shouting to put them off. Zander made the link with listening to God's voice to guide us and how when there are so many other voices sounding it can be hard to hear what God is saying. He encouraged us to focus on His voice to be guided in the right way.
