Midweek outreach meetings

by Struthers Cumbernauld

John began with some 'happy choruses'. God's presence was very real from the outset.

Before coming to the word three of our folks shared how God's hand has been upon their lives through various recent circumstances. Rae then spoke from scattered verses from Matthew 16, 17 and 18. She spoke about not assuming our own authority but becoming like little children; humbling ourselves and taking care in case we make others stumble. We had an excellent worship time with some ministry while God's presence brought us humbly before Him.

At the end, tea and cake were enjoyed together.

This week our Coatbridge folks joined us for a supper evening.

We were pleased to see our Motherwell friends brought 7 visitors from the local area while our Coatbridge friends also had a visitor with them.

We began the evening with a fabulous spread which folks generously provided.

We then had some singing before Mima shared her testimony. Mark and Leah sang a beautiful duet and then Diana brought the word. She spoke about the New Testament Church and compared it to the church today. She encouraged us to find the real life of God for ourselves and to live up to the New Testament standard. We closed with prayer before further good conversations followed. There was generally a very good response to the evening with the promise from some that they would return soon.

We are grateful to everyone who provided so generously for the occasion and worked so hard in setting and clearing up.
