Midweek outreach meetings

by Struthers Cumbernauld

We had a good meeting with an encouraging number of locals present. Some of our Coatbridge friends joined us too as the house meeting had to be cancelled at the last minute due to sickness.

We started with a fabulous time of song which led us into deep worship. There came a wave of His healing presence over us; similar to the touch we had had recently one Sunday evening. One or two responded for prayer when opportunity was given.

Pauline then led us in the bible study on the gift of interpretation from 1 Corinthians 14. There were excellent points made with a short discussion at the end. We closed briefly in prayer at the end of the night. Diana reminded folks of the supper evening arranged for June 1st.

After John led some singing, Elaine shared of how two young girls from the Airdrie Youth Group found salvation on Wednesday night. It was lovely to hear the sweetness of God's appointed hour. Rae spoke from 1 Samuel chapters 13 and 14. The  Israelites battle with the Philistines looked very bleak indeed. Not only were they vastly outnumbered, they didn't even have weapons. Nevertheless, God brought confusion among the Philistines and gave the Israelites victory. Today He is still the God of the miraculous. We then had a lovely rich time of worship with some singing in the Spirit. There followed tea and biscuits over a short time of fellowship.
