Outreach meetings.

There was a good number out in Airdrie this week. Rae opened the meeting with some great choruses and then John spoke from Psalm 46:10: 'Be still and know that I am God.'

The general theme was that there are a lot of voices that we listen to on a daily basis, but the most important one is the voice of truth: the Word of God. There are many voices that we would prefer to hear because it is an easier option. However, if we take that leap of faith, which takes us out of our comfort zone and into the unknown, like Peter did, allowing him to walk on water, or David, allowing him to defeat Goliath, then we would achieve so much more in our Christian walk. All we have to do is listen to that voice of truth.

Rae took the worhip at the end when there was some personal ministry. It was a fruitful night.

Everyone was in great voice for a good time of singing to start off our Motherwell meeting this week. It was lovely to have a few of our Coatbridge folks with us again this week. One of our Coatbridge folks, Caroline, gave testimony to how God had saved her from a life of hurt, alcohol and dabbling in drugs, and how more recently God has brought her into a deeper place in Himself.

We had a Bible Study led by Pauline on the gift of giving focusing on 2nd Corinthians. Pauline brought out some very thought provoking points about how, in this part of the Bible, giving is mentioned as a gift of the Spirit and therefore is divinely inspired. It was discussed how it is important for each of us to follow the leading of the Spirit in giving, not only our finances, but more importantly our time, efforts and worship to God.

There followed a lovely time of giving our worship to God in song and in prayer to close the meeting.
