Midweek outreach meetings

by Struthers Cumbernauld

Bad weather didn't stop folks from gathering at the Airdrie meeting this week. After our buffet supper Rae took some singing before Marion gave testimony to how she came to Christ and how He has changed her. Diana then spoke from Psalm 126 and encouraged us to pray for souls. We then turned to pray for the work in Airdrie that we might allow the light of Christ, which has been given to us, to shine in the darkness of our godless nation. Psalm 126:5-6 'Those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy. They weep as they go to plant their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.'

We started this week with a good time of singing led by Mark and Leah, following which we had some up to date reports. It was nice that many of the folks were able to share something of what God is doing in their lives. One lady spoke of having an opportunity to tell of Christ to a neighbour whom she hoping to bring along to one of our meetings at some point.

Polly continued with our theme of the life of David and again it was nice to have lots of contributions from others of their thoughts on the passage we read.

We closed with a great time of singing and there was a real sense of Christ having won the victory for us. One visitor, who had never been to one of our meetings before, really enjoyed the meeting and "couldn't wait to come back".
