Midweek meetings

by Struthers Cumbernauld

A good number gathered at our Airdrie meeting this week  including one of our Greenock folks who came to visit some of her friends. We started with some singing led by John, followed by a testimony from Darrin. Rae then spoke from Exodus 15:22-26. She spoke of the fact we need not despair when we find life is bitter. Like Moses, God can show us the way forward. The bitter waters became sweet when the tree which represents the Cross was placed in the waters. Nothing other than the Cross can turn our bitter waters sweet and give us victory over our sin. We found the richness of His presence as we turned to worship Him. We then had a nice time of fellowship with one another over tea and some nice nibbles. We look forward to another year of blessing upon this work and pray that others will join with us.

At Newmains this week Leah and Tiffs took some singing at the beginning of our meeting. Leah then sang for us which was lovely. We had a couple of reports before Pauline spoke on how it's our day to day choices that makes our Christian walk successful. God wants to change the good qualities as well as the bad ones in our nature that we might transmit Christ and not ourselves. If we don't have a daily devotional walk with Christ we become like a plant in the desert which dies from lack of water. In our worship time at the end there was a word of prophecy given and some personal ministry. It was a rich evening in the presence of God.
