Midweek meetings

by Struthers Cumbernauld

The Airdrie group started back this week after what felt like a very long Easter break.

A smaller number gathered with one new lady who joined us and also another lady who we haven't seen for a while. John led some singing then we looked at some verses around singing and making melody in our hearts to the Lord. Sometimes we feel like singing to the Lord but other times, for whatever storms and difficulties we are facing, we just don't feel like it. Hebrews tells us that we should “offer the sacrifice of praise continually." The King set aside a portion every day for the singers and our King of Kings has a portion set aside for us. Make the effort to offer the sacrifice and you will find your portion. Singing people are fed and those who offer praise glorify the Lord. Praise His name!

We had a good number on Wednesday night. Mark began with a time of worship which led us into prayer. There was a wonderful access to the presence of the Holy Spirit and we enjoyed entering into His joy. At that point in the meeting there was a message in tongues and a powerful interpretation. After this, Diana gave a report on her recent activities in Malta and then shared the word with us. She spoke of the cleansing power of the wind and fire of Pentecost linking it with a beautiful verse:

But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength (2 Timothy 4:17).

We closed with a few quiet moments of prayer at the end. A young man came for some prayer at the end and got on very well.

He had received his baptism in the Spirit during the meeting last week and is thrilled at finding God in a new way.
