Friday youthwork

by Struthers Cumbernauld

We had around 30 kids at Friday club this week. Tiffies began with some singing and the kids were in great voice. She then used balloons creating a static effect to stick on pieces of tissue paper. The illustration was of how Jesus sticks closer than a brother and also that we can cast all our cares on Him and He carries them for us. We then enjoyed some outdoor games and crafts while some of the older girls practiced a song for this Sunday morning. They then went on to learn some balloon modelling with Darrin and their balloons will be on sale next Friday to raise money for youth camp.

In our student zone we were delighted to welcome the youth group from our Falkirk church. We began with some time for nibbles and chat before the meeting. Liam led a very good time of singing before Lesley gave testimony to salvation and baptism in the Spirit. Tiffies then spoke from 2 Kings chapter 6 on the story of Elisha’s servant having his eyes opened to the armies of God protecting them. She talked about things that can be like an army protecting us as we grow up. She told the young folks about practical steps they can make to be in the right place and have their eyes open to what God has for them and how He would lead them. We had a short time of prayer and worship to close and there was a lovely, gentle sense of the life of God with us.
