Toddlers update

by Struthers Cumbernauld

A busy morning once again with 25 children in attendance.

During the free play session Annette and some of the parents took the older children out for ball games in the car park. Songs and rhymes for the little ones followed taken by Laura. The big ones watched a little DVD clip of part of life of David. Morag then spoke further of David's fight with Goliath, finishing by teaching them the chorus which narrates the story. The children listened well. Some of the children also coloured in pictures of David.

Snack and games completed the morning.

Friday youth meetings

by Struthers Cumbernauld

We had 23 at our youth club tonight. Tiffies began with some singing before talking to the P3-7s about friendship with Jesus and the difference between knowing about Jesus and knowing Jesus. We closed with a short time of prayer and singing which was very nice. Debbie and Marianne worked with P1/2 and Debbie spoke about building friendship with Jesus using Lego bricks which the kids added different attributes of friendship to. The blocks came together to make a tower, in the same way we're joining with Jesus and with one another as He becomes our friend. We then had our arts and crafts, quiz and games.

Heather started the student zone with some games. We then split into three discussion groups with Tiffies and Shev taking the P7-S1 group, Scott and Heather with the teens and Zander taking the young adults. All groups were based around the theme of the importance of change and what it really means to allow God to change you. Each group had a very good discussion before they closed with prayer.

Midweek outreach meetings

by Struthers Cumbernauld

This week we had an outreach and were delighted to see seven visitors.

We began our evening with a generous spread laid on by our local ladies. There was a very relaxed and happy atmosphere amongst us as folks got to know each other. Following this we had a short time of song led by Mark and Diana.  Tiffies then gave her testimony to salvation and baptism in the Holy Spirit before Leah sang a beautiful solo. Diana followed by preaching the gospel message. She spoke of the changing power of Christ. Two people came to Christ before the end of the evening. Thanks to our Lord for His rich blessing and our ladies for providing such a generous spread.

Good meeting at Airdrie this week with three new folks who have been coming around. After John led some singing Darrin gave testimony to how he found Christ and was baptised in the Holy Spirit. Rae then spoke from Numbers 11:16: The Lord summoned the people to the tabernacle so that He could take some of the Spirit that was upon Moses and put it upon them that they might also bear the burden of the people. A very good worship time followed and our new folk all benefitted from some ministry. We had time to have a chat with them over a wee cup of tea. Praise God for His faithfulness in answering prayers!

Toddlers update

Another full session at Toddlers. 26 children and 27 adults joined us this morning. Following a free play session we split into our two groups. This week Karen taught the older children some new songs and Morag asked the children to speak about their favourite books which they had brought along. Annette took the younger group for some nursery rhymes and songs. They also had brought a favourite book which we briefly discussed.

Following snack we had a parade of all the children many of whom had come dressed as characters from books and films. They each received a small prize. It was a busy morning!
