Thought For The Week by Pastor Diana Rutherford

'Me ye have not always'  John 12:8

These words were spoken by Christ after Mary had taken the most expensive perfume in the house and anointed the feet of Jesus with it.  It was a sign of her love and affection for the Master.  In verse 7 Jesus explains that Mary had done this in preparation for His burial. It was a privilege and an honour that Mary was given this to do.  The days were passing and soon it would have been too late.  She would have missed her opportunity and it would never have come again.

Some among us love the Saviour but we have never used the opportunity to give the best years of our lives and offer them at the feet of Christ.  The days are passing quickly.  All too soon the best of our youthful years, energies, health and strength will have gone and we will have missed the opportunities that will never come again.

Let us take time to give the best of what we have now to Him who loves us who  has given all to us.
