Thought for the week by pastor Diana Rutherford

'Jesus said unto him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.'
John 14:6

This verse has been much contested in these days of political correctness. We rejoice that Christ, the Son of God spoke them, and so we are free to quote them! It sums up the kernel of the Christian faith; only those who come to God through Christ will find answers.

Christ Jesus is The Way to God. We cannot come to God by any other means. We can try and find Him through this theory or that therapy but, only as we submit our minds and accept His word, we discover He is the only medium by which we can truly find God. Then we will experience the truth.

He is The Truth. If we want to know the truth about ourselves and about the way we live then we need to look at ourselves through the eyes of Christ. We need to measure ourselves against His standards. I tell you His truth hurts, but if you read His word and listen He will lead you into a real spiritual life.

Thirdly, He is The Life; real abundant overflowing Life. In His word it says:
'I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.' John 10:10

Jesus said in His word:
'These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.' John 15:11

The only way to true and lasting life satisfaction is in Christ.

If you don't agree with me, or more importantly with Christ, perhaps it's because you have never really come to Him. As Jesus said to some:
'Yet you refuse to come to me to have life.' John 5:40

Is this true in your case? Are you refusing to come to the One who not only can show you the way to the Father, but will reveal to you the truth about yourself? Friend, it is when you come without reservation that He can then fill you with overflowing, satisfying life and joy.

Try it, it works!
